GENEON ENTERTAINMENT KICKS OFF
EAST COAST CONVENTION WITH CONCERT AND DANCE CONTEST
Featuring The North American Stage Debut of The Indigo,
Performing Songs From Fan-Favorite Anime Series, Ai Yori Aoshi
WHAT: Geneon Entertainment, one of the leading distributors
of anime and anime soundtracks in North America, brings the music
talent behind several contemporary Japanese anime classics for
interviews, panels and performances at Otakon 2005, as well
as sponsoring an anime music dance contest.
WHO: The Indigo – Already beloved worldwide for their smooth
ballads and soulful folk sound, The Indigo makes their U.S.
debut on Friday afternoon at the Camden Lobby area and Saturday
evening at the OtaCafé, both located on the Baltimore Convention
Center show floor. Additional performances will be at the Geneon
Entertainment booth during all three days of the convention. The duo
– Miki Toaka (vocals and lyrics) and Yuichi Ichikawa (composition
and arrangement) – has contributed their unique musical stylings to
several popular anime series, including Ai Yori Aoshi, Ai
Yori Aoshi ~Enishi~ and Someday’s Dreamers. Their new
domestic album, the Indigo: Indigo suite, streets from
Geneon Entertainment on August 16th.
Para Para Max Dance Contest – To mark the August 16th release
of the new Para Para Max US Mix CD, a dance contest is being
held Saturday afternoon, focusing on the unique and popular dance
trend known as “Para Para” (choreographed hand/arm movements set to
Euro-beat style anime music). The contest winner will have an
opportunity to choreograph new dance moves on the next CD release of
the Para Para Max US Mix.
Kyo Kara Maoh Fans! – Celebrating the whimsical fantasy
series in which a young man is crowned King of the demon world after
being accidentally flushed down the toilet, zealous fans are
convening to discuss Kyo Kara Maoh!, one of the most popular
anime series for 2005. Geneon Entertainment sponsors a Kyo Kara
Maoh Fan Panel on Friday evening at the convention center for
attendees to discuss and hear new information about this title.
