GAMETRAILERS MAKES PLAY TO REWARD USERS WITH LAUNCH OF NEW “GT MARKETPLACE”

‘Tis The Season – “GT Marketplace” Teams Up With Child’s Play Charity. Offering Gamers An Avenue To Give Back

Santa Monica, Calif. (December 7, 2006) – Continuing to expand its community offerings, GameTrailers (GT), a division of Viacom Inc.’s (NYSE: VIA, VIA.B) MTV Networks, today announced the launch of ““GT Marketplace””, a dynamic and innovative user rewards program for GT members who visit and interact with the many features of GameTrailers.com. In the spirit of the holidays, “GT Marketplace” allows gamers to get involved with Child’s Play charity.

The “GT Marketplace” lets gamers earn points or "GT Dollars" (GTD) that can be traded in for real items, personal GamePad enhancements, collectables, video games and even game consoles. Registration is free and GT members earn GT Dollars for each activity they engage in on the site, such as watching movies, writing blogs or referring friends.

“GT members are part of an active community, uploading thousands of user movies a week,” said Brent Phillips, Director of Technology, GameTrailers. “We developed “’GT Marketplace’ to thank our members for using the site and being part of the community, as well as giving them incentive to explore all that GT has to offer.”

GT Dollars can be traded in for a variety of goods from collectible swag - such as shirts and hats - to full retail games, electronics, and even next-gen game consoles - such as an Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii or Nintendo DS Lite. GT members can also earn virtual items that enhance their personal GamePad pages with graphics, photo albums and more.

Additionally, throughout the holiday season, “GT Marketplace” will allow users to give cash donations to the generous Child’s Play charity. Gamers can trade in 20 GTD for a one-dollar cash donation to Child’s Play. As an added bonus, each donation enters users into a drawing to win an Xbox 360. A total of ten thousand dollars in donations is available through the “GT Marketplace” giving gamers a unique opportunity to support this extraordinary gamer cause.

“Child’s Play is a wonderful charity that changes the lives of many young kids and uses games for such a positive action,” said Jon Slusser, General Manager of GameTrailers. “We’re honored to be able to provide the opportunity for our users to give something back to children in need all by doing something they love.”

In 2003 Penny Arcade - the renowned video game and geek centric web comic and community website - established Child’s Play, a gamer-run organization that holds annual toy drives for children’s hospitals, bringing the joy of gaming to children in long-term care while combating negative stereotypes about video games in the media. Over the last three years, Child’s Play has donated millions of dollars in toys, games and cash to sick kids in hospitals around the world. Now “GT Marketplace” gets the GT community involved.
