Be Beautiful Midaresomenishi Winner Presented With Her Prize Be Beautiful Makes One Reader’s Dream Come True New York, NY (February 1, 2006) – At the same time that Be Beautiful announced its acquisition of Kazuma Kodaka’s samurai yaoi Midaresomenishi at Yaoi-Con 2005, it announced a contest giving fans the chance to choose the English title of the book. Further, Be Beautiful revealed one lucky fan would be chosen at random to receive a Midaresomenishi banner autographed by Ms. Kodaka. That lucky winner, Lauren Agliata of White Plains, New York, met up with Be Beautiful’s publisher, Masumi Homma O’Donnell this past Monday at Be Beautiful’s New York headquarters to claim her prize. Lauren is an avid reader and has even completed The Tale of Genji. She discovered yaoi through the works of Mary Renault, Mercedes Lackey, Ellen Kushner, as well as fan fiction and has since gotten friends and even pen pals into Be Beautiful. Following the presentation, Masumi treated Lauren to a lunch at Be Beautiful’s favorite Japanese restaurant. Their day together concluded with a bow, handshake, and smile.
