Macek came
to the
attention of
anime fans
as the
executive
producer of
Harmony
Gold’s
Robotech
television
series,
long-considered
to be one of
the titles
responsible
for exposing
a new
generation
of fans to
anime. From
there, he
founded
Streamline
Pictures,
which
handled
early U.S.
releases of
properties
including
Akira, Lupin
III: The
Castle of
Cagliostro,
Robot
Carnival and
Doomed
Megalopolis.
He also
worked with
ADV Films on
the DVD
releases of
Robotech and
titles such
as Aura
Battler
Dunbine and
My Beautiful
Girl Mari.
This anime
industry
veteran’s
recent and
current
projects
include
consulting
on Robotech:
The Shadow
Chronicles
and script
adaptation
for Bleach.
