XFIRE HOSTS COUNTER-STRIKE ELITE SHOWDOWN, THE FIRST EVENT IN THE RIDICULOUSLY LONG LASTING STRIDE XFIRE CUP 2007 ON MARCH 29 AT 6PM EDT

WHAT:

Xfire, the 6.8 million-strong gaming community, is set to air The Ridiculously Long Lasting Stride Xfire Cup 2007. The online Counter-Strike: Source invitational tournament is bringing the best North American teams together to compete for $24,000 in winnings. The tournament, which will be broadcast live on Xfire through a partnership with EGLN, will begin with the quarter-final events on both March 29 and April 5. The tournament is sponsored by Stride – The Ridiculously Long Lasting Gum.

Not only will gamers have the opportunity to watch the quarter- final matches at http://www.xfire.com/stride, but they will also be able to play pick-up games with the professional teams and have the chance to win thousands of dollars in prizes including a year’s supply of Stride gum, the new GeForce 8800 GTS graphics card, a Samsung 22-inch LCD monitor, a PC game, or a private lesson with the pros.

Eight Professional Gaming Teams, including Check Six, CompLexity, EFG, EG, Hyper, Jax Money Crew, Team3D and Verge, and the gaming community.
