On June 6, Allumination FilmWorks Presents the U.S. Debut DVD Release NAINA, A World Cinema Release

Woodland Hills, CA – Allumination FilmWorks, a leading independent entertainment company, is proud to debut the World Cinema release of the psychological thriller, Naina to U.S.audiences on June 6, 2006.  Made in India, Naina opened theatrically in May 2005 and has a similar tone as the thrillers, The Eye and Dark Water.  The film tells the story of Naina, a blind woman who undergoes a successful cornea transplant but in turn, is haunted by shadows and spirits.  Soon, Naina discovers her newfound clairvoyance enables her to sense death before its arrival and experience the misery of the restless dead.

On a day of solar eclipse in 1986, five year old Naina loses both her eyesight and her parents in a road accident in London.  Twenty years later, she is bestowed with the gift of sight thanks to the marvels of modern science.  Her period of darkness is over; or is it? A horrifying period of darkness begins.  What is this curse that has been upon her? Will she ever be able to escape it? Will this extraordinary sense she is now bestowed with destroy her life? Will she ever be able to resume her regular life again? Naina takes us on her quest to find answers to these supernatural mysteries.  Will she succeed?

Written and directed by debutante Shripal Morakhia, Naina is an iDream Production. The supporting cast includes Anuj Sawhney, Sweta Konnur, Amardeep Jha, Kamini Khanna and Sulabha Arya. Salim-Sulaiman have composed the background score.   Naina was made in India and is in Hindi with English subtitles.
