Press Release SCREAMING DEAD COMES TO STARZ ON DEMAND AND STARZ TICKET
New York, NY – Screaming Dead, ei Independent Cinema’s 2003 breakout horror film, has recently been selected by Starz Entertainment Group LLC (SEG), the largest provider of premium movie services in the United States, to round out their 2005/2006 broadcast schedules. Screaming Dead will become available December 1, 2005 on Starz On Demand and Starz Ticket.
Screaming Dead launched ei Cinema’s newly re-vamped horror studio, Shock-O-Rama Cinema, in 2003. The New Jersey-based independent film company had previously garnered notoriety with a line of sexy spoofs released on their Seduction Cinema label; several of which have aired on late-night cable television
“The Shock-O-Rama Cinema studio had its origins in my desire to bring entertaining, independent horror films to the public. There are so many talented directors working outside the Hollywood studio systems - with a fraction of their budgets - whose features deserve to be seen. I always thought they would be perfect for television and I’m delighted Screaming Dead has found a home at Starz On Demand and Starz Ticket,” commented ei Independent Cinema President, Michael Raso.
Screaming Dead was the first release in a three-picture deal between genre veteran Brett Piper and ei Cinema’s Shock-O-Rama (horror) studio. The New Jersey-based independent film studio was looking for an established, talented director in the B and horror industry, and Brett (Psyclops, Arachnia,) stepped up to the table with a script about an abandoned asylum, a perverse photographer, his assistant (Rachel Robbins), and 3 gullible young women. The resulting film was a smash success, and can be found in all major retail and rental chains. In 2004, Brett followed up with Bite Me! the mutant-bug-on-the-loose stop-motion extravaganza, and is currently wrapping up post-production on the titular Shock-O-Rama.
