MAYHEM ENSUES
ON CELL PHONES AS SONY PICTURES DIGITAL LAUNCHES RATCHET &
CLANK: GOING MOBILE¹
Mobile Game Features Enhanced Integration With Ratchet: Deadlocked
for the PlayStation®2 Computer Entertainment System
Sony Pictures
Digital¹s Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile is now available on most
major carriers. Based on one of Sony Computer Entertainment
America¹s most famous properties, Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile
delivers the complete Ratchet & Clank® experience by retaining the
unique look and feel of the original console game series.
In addition to the unique humor and thrilling action of Ratchet &
Clank:Going Mobile, fans of the series will also enjoy the mobile
game¹s enhanced integration with Ratchet: Deadlocked for the
PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system. Successful completion
of some levels within Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile provides codes
that can be used to access secret Ratchet: Deadlocked features such
as exclusive character models.
Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile puts a new spin on the series by
letting players guide the famous duo on a quest through a
hazard-filled mobile phone handset. Ratchet and Clank arrive in
their cellular predicament after a miniaturization process goes awry
and the two must then explore the phone¹s darkest recesses in a
search for the keys that will help them to escape.
The game features the duo¹s signature moves and weapons, letting
players propel Ratchet from wall to wall as he scales obstacles
while blasting away with outrageous weapons including the Boarzooka,
Gravity Bombs and Mini Rockets. As in the console version, players
can also visit a store at the end of every level to purchase new
items or upgrade weapons.
In addition to the game, Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile enthusiasts
can download a variety of personalization products that include
wallpapers and screensavers. Each of the downloadable files can be
previewed prior to purchase at http://www.sonypictures.com/mobile/ratchet/
or by sending the text message ³Ratchet² to 4SONY (47669). Sony¹s
marketing support for the mobile game also includes a high-profile
effort that includes cross promotion with Sony Computer
Entertainment America. Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile and Ratchet:
Deadlocked will be advertised alongside one another, with the mobile
game in ads for the console game and vice versa.
Ratchet & Clank: Going Mobile is now available through most major
carriers.
There are no airtime charges for playing the game, only usage
charges when downloading the game or personalization products.
