SONIC RIVALS 2 RACES TO STORES

SAN FRANCISCO (November 13, 2007) –SEGA® of America, Inc. today announced that Sonic Rivals™ 2, exclusively for the PSP® (PlayStation®Portable) system, has shipped to stores across North America. This irresistibly addictive action-platformer, one of the holiday’s hottest titles, brings intense action to the PSP system, including two single player modes and six all-new multiplayer modes.

Sonic Rivals 2 brings back the classic 2D extreme speed action that Sonic is famous for. Twelve new ring-filled stages have been created for this intense head-to-head race where the ultimate goal is to rescue the Chao and uncover who is responsible for some dastardly deeds. The game features eight playable characters – including three characters who are all-new to the Sonic Rivals world : Miles “Tails” Prower, Espio the Chameleon, and Rouge the Bat – each one with their own special skills and abilities. Sonic Rivals 2 has two intense single-player modes – the Story mode, which allows players to enjoy the whole story behind the head-to-head competition, and Free Play mode in which gamers can explore this stunning world at their own pace. Players can also collect 150 new cards, each bringing new options for customizing playable characters.

Sonic Rivals 2 also offers a series of exciting multiplayer modes thanks to the PSP system’s wireless and single-disc sharing capabilities. The game features six different multi-player modes, each of which is available using the single-disc game sharing for up to two players. The multiplayer battle modes are: Knockout (where players try desperately to knockout their opponent before the time runs out), Ring Battle (where gamers do anything to make sure that they have the most rings when the timer hits zero), Race (where the goal is to reach the finish line first), King of the Hill (where players have to stay in the safety zone for as long as possible before their time runs out), Capture the Chao (where gamers must capture and hold onto their opponents Chao), and Tag (players fight to stay alive in this intense game of avoiding the soon-to-explode bomb).
