FIGHTER CHARACTER AKUMA IN STREET FIGHTER ALPHA : GENERATIONS

Chicago, IL (September 28, 2005) – Alongside a host of new Street
Fighter action figures, trading cards, and games which will be
released by different companies turning October into Street
Fighter month, anime distributor Manga Entertainment will
release an all new anime co-production Street Fighter Alpha:
Generations. ‘Generations’ reveals the untold story of Street
Fighter characters Akuma and Ryu and will be available
nationwide on October 25th.
In this thrilling prequel to Street Fighter Alpha, Ryu returns
to pay homage to his deceased mentor, but is tormented by
disturbing memories of his master’s killer. In a quest to become
a true martial arts master, Ryu sets out to hone his street
fighting skills and to deliver himself from the haunting legacy
of the Dark Hadou. But the ultimate test of his new power can
only be accomplished through one last fateful confrontation with
his arch-nemesis, Gouki.
“Generations was created to give an insight to some of the
answers to why the most intriguing and arcane character, Akuma (Gouki),
became who he is. It also explores the history behind some of
the Street Fighter characters and how the main character Ryu, is
inadvertently linked to his arch nemesis Akuma (Gouki)” states

Street Fighter Alpha: Generations constitutes the directorial
debut of Ikuo Kuwana – a veteran animator for such
ground-breaking anime works as Steam Boy, Neon Genesis
Evangelion, Blood: The Last Vampire and Dead Leaves. He is
joined by acclaimed anime producer Kazufumi Nomura (Robot
Carnival, Jo Jo's Bizarre Adventure), cinematographer Hideo
Okazaki (Roujin Z) and veteran sound director Yasunori Honda (X,
Ninja Scroll, Urotsukidoji, Macross).
