New York (Sept. 29, 2005) – Powered by the same technology as used
by military organizations the world over, Operation Flashpoint
Elite is set to be the most realistic war game ever experienced
on consoles. Coming this November, exclusively for Xbox video
game system from Microsoft, you can see it in action now in the
new video, available online at www.codemasters.com/flashpointxbox
(in Downloads).
Operation Flashpoint: Elite is powered by an enhanced edition of
Operation Flashpoint technology, created by the game’s
developer Bohemia Interactive Studio. The technology is widely
recognized for its accurate simulation of modern warfare and has
been adapted for the United States Marine Corps, United States
National Guard, Australian Defense Forces and others to use as a
combat training application called VBS1.
The game’s authenticity also comes from the first-hand military
experience of the Bohemia Interactive development team, whose
members served in the army and have drawn on their experiences
to create the game’s military operations.
Operation Flashpoint: Elite delivers unprecedented freedom and
lets you run the war the way you want to. Listen, watch, run as
a regular grunt, drive a tank, attack enemy convoys from your
gunship or sneak behind enemy lines in covert operations. In
Operation Flashpoint: Elite’s missions you can go anywhere,
drive anything, shoot anyone, take command of your own squad but
never forget: if you see the flash, it’s already too late.
All weapons are accurately simulated taking into account
ballistics and your fatigue as well as the effects of recoil.
Vehicles are simulated using an advanced physical simulation to
create realistic behavior on the ground, in water and in the
air.
Furthermore, the game’s Artificial Intelligence-driven soldiers
move, behave and react as if truly human and never fail to find
a new way to surprise the player. And if 70 different single
player missions are not enough, you can create new missions
using the easy-to-use mission editor. Alternatively you can
engage up to 8 opponents via Xbox Live in more than 50
missions!
Operation Flashpoint: Elite takes you closer to an intense
modern military conflict than ever imaginable. It’s a large
virtual world with endless opportunities and ever-changing
environments. Make your mark in the Cold War when Operation
Flashpoint: Elite launches, exclusively for Xbox, in November.
Sample the action ahead of release with the new video, now
available from the game’s website at www.codemasters.com/flashpointxbox
and www.flashpointelite.com.
