Fan favorite
anime
movies,
television
programming
and feature
films from
Starz
Media’s
large
content
library are
available
starting
today on
Amazon Unbox
(http://unbox.amazon.com),
Amazon’s
digital
video
download
service that
offers a
library of
over 10,000
movies, TV
shows and
other
digital
content for
rent or
purchase.
Users will
be able to
download
hundreds of
Starz titles
to their PC
or TiVoŠ
digital
video
recorders
through
Amazon Unbox
on TiVo. The
Starz
catalogue
available on
Amazon Unbox
includes
anime movies
from Manga
Entertainment
such as
Ghost in the
Shell, Ninja
Scroll, and
Blood: The
Last
Vampire;
classic
films The
Evil Dead
and The
Hills Have
Eyes;
horror/thriller
content
including
the popular
“Masters of
Horror”
series;
animated
comic
superhero
movies
including
Hellboy
Animated:
Sword of
Storms and
Stan Lee's
Condor and
Mosaic; and
TV series "Astro
Boy,"
"Street
Fighter" and
“Tripping
the Rift.”
The
distribution
agreement
with Amazon
Unbox is the
latest in
Starz
Media’s
steadily
increasing
embrace of
new
distribution
channels. In
the past few
months, the
production
and
distribution
company – a
unit of
Starz, LLC
which is
itself a
wholly owned
subsidiary
of Liberty
Media -- has
signed
content
deals with
such
services as
Azureus’
Vuze
service,
BitTorrent,
Guba, IGN’s
Direct2Drive,
Netflix and
Starz’s own
Vongo.
Through
these and
other
pending
partnerships,
Starz Media
is
distributing
more than
400 films,
television
episodes and
other video
productions
from its
various
divisions.
With the
breadth of
content from
Starz
Media’s
various
divisions,
each of the
partners’
services
will get a
unique
combination
of titles
for
electronic
sell-through,
video-on-demand
and
subscription
video-on-demand.
